Six people have tragically died in the Poro Bush along the Rogbanch-Masuba axis in Makeni, according to a statement by Sergeant John Abass Kamara, Media Officer for the North-East Region, speaking on behalf of Regional Commander AIG Edward Samadia.

Among the deceased, two victims were secretly buried at separate locations. Moses was interred at Rogboya Cemetery, and Alimamy Kamara was laid to rest at Kabala Road Cemetery, both in Makeni. Notably, Alimamy Kamara was buried without the knowledge of his family or the police.

Police visited the crime scene and arrested eleven individuals, including a woman named Fatmata, who is accused of selling drugs to the deceased. The remains of the other four victims have been taken to the Makeni Government Hospital mortuary for postmortem examinations.

The eleven suspects are currently in police custody, assisting with the ongoing investigation.

Additionally, Assistant Commissioner Brima Kamara clarified the circumstances surrounding the death of 12-year-old Jebbeh Sovula. Contrary to earlier reports, investigations revealed that she was not gang-raped and stabbed, but rather shot by a hunter in Benduma, Kenema.

Eight hunters have been arrested in connection with this case. Dr. Simeon Owizz Koroma conducted the postmortem, confirming that Jebbeh Sovula died from gunshot wounds.
