Lungi Motorbike Riders Put on Notice Over Road Safety Violations
Aminata Koroma The Traffic Division of the Sierra Leone Police (SLP), Lungi, in collaboration with the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority (SLRSA), has conducted a road safety sensitisation exercise for motorbike riders at Rotifunk Market Park, Lungi.
The exercise, held on Tuesday, 29 September 2026, was led by the Divisional Traffic Officer, Madam Augusta Mary Sesay, and focused on promoting road safety and responsible riding, particularly as the festive season approaches.
During the sensitisation, motorbike riders were cautioned against displaying names or other markings in place of registration number plates, overloading passengers or goods, riding without helmets, wearing slippers while riding, and using mobile phones while on the road.
The riders were reminded that those who violate road safety regulations would face the full force of the law.
The Chairman of Rotifunk Market Park welcomed the sensitisation exercise and expressed the commitment of motorbike riders to complying with road safety regulations.
Participants also appreciated the timely initiative by the Sierra Leone Police and the Sierra Leone Road Safety Authority.
