Dozens of women at Njala University, Mokonde Campus, have benefited from a financial empowerment initiative under the SLPP Njala Chapter Women Revolving Fund. Each beneficiary received one hundred thousand Leones (NLe 100,000) during a presentation ceremony held at the Njala Staff Canteen on April 2, 2026.
The initiative, sponsored by Hon. Sidie Mohamed Tunis, aims to support women financially and promote small-scale economic activities among members of the SLPP Njala Chapter.
Speaking at the event, the Chairperson of the fund, Dr Brima Gegbe, highlighted the importance of economic empowerment for women, noting that the revolving fund is designed to provide continuous financial support through a sustainable system.

The Revolving Fund Secretary, Dr Saffa M. Massaquoi, explained that the fund will operate in a way that allows beneficiaries to repay gradually, enabling others to benefit in the future.
Chair-lady Mrs Susan Kroma encouraged the women to make good use of the money to improve their livelihoods, while the Public Relations Officer, Senator Moinena Nelson Kallon, emphasised the party’s commitment to grassroots development and women’s empowerment.

Other key members present included Youth Leader Philip Anthony, along with several beneficiaries such as Mrs Fatmata Kamara, who expressed gratitude for the support and pledged to invest the funds wisely.
The SLPP Njala Chapter Women Revolving Fund is expected to strengthen financial independence among women in the Njala community and contribute to local economic growth.
