The Sierra Leone Roads Authority (SLRA) has issued a press release on August 12, 2024, addressing recent rumors circulating on social media about stolen pedestrian rails along the Hillside Bypass Road. The SLRA clarifies that these claims are unfounded.
According to the SLRA, the section in question is currently under construction as part of ongoing work by the contractor. The pedestrian rails, which are part of additional safety measures, are awaiting the installation of newly procured pipes. The contractor has already secured the pipes and will install them once delivered.
The SLRA emphasizes that such rumors can cause unnecessary concern and reassures the public of their commitment to enhancing road safety. They urge the public to rely on official information from the SLRA regarding the state and condition of the roads.
