The Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) of Sierra Leone has issued an important advisory for all prospective university applicants and their guardians ahead of the 2024/25 academic year.

In a press release, the TEC cautioned potential applicants to verify the accreditation status of tertiary institutions before submitting applications.

The Commission urged parents, guardians, and students to visit its official website (tecsl.edu.sl) to access a comprehensive list of accredited institutions in Sierra Leone.

The advisory comes as a precaution to ensure that applicants avoid applying to unaccredited institutions, which may affect their educational journey.

“We encourage all applicants to ensure they are making informed decisions by reviewing the updated list of recognized tertiary institutions,” the statement read.

The TEC also extended its best wishes to all university applicants as they embark on the next phase of their academic journey.

This advisory serves as a timely reminder for applicants to stay informed and take the necessary steps to ensure their educational goals align with accredited and recognized institutions in the country.
