Trailer Collapses and Crushes Parked Car at Portee Junction
A trailer transporting a heavy machine collapsed onto a parked car in the late hours of Thursday, 15 January 2026, at Portee Junction while the owner had stepped away briefly.
Thankfully, no one was injured, though the vehicle sustained significant damage.
The incident comes amid a troubling spate of road accidents across the country this month. Earlier in January, a bus crash on the Makeni Highway claimed at least 12 lives and left several others injured. Such accidents have renewed calls for stricter safety measures and improved regulation of heavy vehicles on busy roads.
Authorities are expected to investigate the Portee Junction accident as residents continue to express concern over road safety nationwide.
