Forty-year-old Lamin Dabor, a Sierra Leonean travel consultant based in the UAE, has been remanded at the Pademba Road Male Correctional Facility by Magistrate John Manso Fornah of Pademba Road Court No. 2 for alleged travel scam.

The defendant was before the court on nine-count charge, including one count of conspiracy and eight counts of obtaining money by false pretenses contrary to Section 32(1) of the Larceny Act of 1916.

According to the particulars of offence, on divers dates between 14th May 2024 and 17th September 2025 at No. 19 Falcon Street in the Western Area of Freetown, the defendant allegedly conspired together with other persons unknown to commit a crime, to wit obtaining money by false pretenses.

Count two further states that the defendant, with intent to defraud, allegedly obtained the sum of three thousand Leones (Le3,000) from Isha Titi Kamara by falsely pretending that he would facilitate her travel to Canada, knowing the representation to be false.

And on Count three also states that on the same date and place, the defendant allegedly obtained the sum of two thousand Leones (Le2,000) from Isha Titi Kamara under the same pretense of facilitating her travel to Canada.

Count four states that on 8th July 2024, the defendant allegedly obtained the sum of nineteen thousand Leones (Le19,000) from Isha Titi Kamara by falsely claiming that he would facilitate her travel to Canada.

Count five further alleges that on 14th July 2024, the defendant obtained the sum of one thousand Leones (Le1,000) from the same complainant under the same pretense.

Count six states that on 19th July 2025, the defendant allegedly obtained seven hundred Leones (Le700) from Isha Titi Kamara by falsely claiming that he would facilitate her travel to Canada.

Count seven further states that on 16th September 2025, the defendant allegedly obtained three hundred and ninety-eight Leones (Le398) from the complainant under the same pretense.

Count eight states that on 17th September 2025, the defendant allegedly obtained eight thousand Leones (Le8,000) from Isha Titi Kamara by falsely pretending that he would facilitate her travel to Canada.

Count nine further states that on the same date and place, the defendant allegedly obtained five thousand five hundred and seven Leones (Le5,507) from the complainant under the same false pretense.

When the charges were read and explained to the defendant, no plea was taken.

Meanwhile, Magistrate Fornah refused bail and ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Male Correctional Facility in Freetown. The matter was adjourned to 18th March 2026.
