Two individuals have been arrested by the Sierra Leone Police in connection with a reported robbery along the Bo-Kenema Highway near Sidikie Lane in Bo City.

The incident occurred on Thursday, May 22, and involved the robbery of Madam Mariama Jeneba Jayah, a resident of Mendewa Layout.

Following the prompt report made by the victim, officers from the Bo East Division swiftly responded to the scene. Through a rapid and intelligence-led operation, the police managed to apprehend two suspects, identified as Alusine Maroof Kanu and Gabriel Turay, both residents of Namya Section in Bo. The suspects were later transferred to the Regional Criminal Investigations Department (CID) South for further investigation.

Notably, a statement from Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Brima Kanneh, commended the Bo East Division for their professionalism and quick response to the incident.

He praised the efficiency and public-centered approach of the police force in the Southern Region, emphasizing the commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents.

AIG Kanneh reportedly reaffirmed the values of a modern, service-driven police force exhibited by the officers’ swift reaction and courage in the case, assuring the public that justice would be pursued, with regular updates shared as the case progresses.
