Two accused persons Mohamed Sesay and Osman Bangura who were allegedly found in possession of unlawful drugs at the Lungi Airport on Thursday 23rd March 2023 Made their first appearance before Magistrate Marke Ngegba of the Magistrate Court No.1.
It was alleged that the accused persons on the 1st of February 2023 were found in possession of 462 strips of tramadol at the Lungi International Airport.
The accused persons are standing trial on two counts of contravention of requirements under section 59(1) of the Pharmacy and Drug Act of 2002.
After the charges were read and explained to the accused persons, no plea was taken from the accused persons.
Defense Counsel K.T Dauda made an application for bail on behalf of the accused persons but was denied.
The matter was adjoined to March 30th, 2023 for further hearing.
