Fatamata Mansaray has appeared before Magistrate Julia Mary Gbloh at Pademba Road Court No. 5 in Freetown on allegations of child stealing.

The accused was arrested on 21st February 2026 and charged with child stealing contrary to Section 56 of the Offences Against the Person Act 1861.

According to the police charge sheet, the alleged incident took place on Monday 9th February 2026 at Kroo Bay. Police alleged that Mansaray stole a one-year-nine-month-old baby boy, Patrick Lamin Davidson Patewa, against the will of his parents.

When the charge was read and explained in court, no plea was taken from the accused.

The matter is being prosecuted by Sergeant 3001 Frances Lamin, who informed the court that the case is currently at the stage of Preliminary Investigation (P.I.), which means witnesses will later testify before the High Court of Sierra Leone.

During the court proceedings, the accused was questioned about the whereabouts of the child. However, she allegedly refused to disclose where the child is believed to be.

Magistrate Julia Mary Gbloh, noting the seriousness of the allegation, adjourned the matter to 17th March 2026 for further hearing.
