The biggest music group from the East, Team Kenema Kenema composed of young and talented musicians Mykus, Nuel Jr, Zarkalooth and Ibro LG, releases a heart touching and emotional song titled “Kema Ena”.
“Kema Ena” is a Sierra Leone’s Mende language which means in English “Nowhere to complain”, is a fascinating song that reflects the harsh realities of life in a challenging environment. The song portrays a town where resilience and hard work are the strongest pillars to survival. Indicating that, the city they find themselves has nowhere to complain about the daily challenges they are going through.
The lyrics of the song vividly depict a place where only the strong can prosper, and voices often go unheard despite the complaints and struggles of its populaces. Yet, Team Kenema Kenema shows the abilities of adaptation and flexibility which indicate their readiness to face all the challenges to achieve their goals. “Kema Ena” gives words of courage to people that are in a sad situation which affect their dreams. The song is relatable to people that are trying to achieve their dreams and makes ends meet.
