Sierra Leone’s Chief Minister, David Moinina Sengeh, has extended his congratulations to all 138,328 candidates who have successfully completed the 2024 West African Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

In a statement, Chief Minister Sengeh commended the students for their hard work and dedication, noting that they undertook approximately 118 papers over nearly two months. He highlighted the provision made for blind students, who used braille during the exams, as a significant milestone in the country’s progress towards radical inclusion in education.

“Blind students used braille thanks to Radical Inclusion. We thank H.E President Bio for his commitment to transforming education,” Sengeh remarked.

He expressed personal pride in this year’s cohort, emphasizing the ongoing efforts to build a system of excellence in education. Sengeh noted that this examination period was notably quiet and free from significant disruptions. He assured that issues such as the incident with the Mathematics paper, which was promptly rescheduled, were handled efficiently. Additionally, he reiterated the policy that candidates caught with phones would have their results withheld.

“We will keep working until quality means quality. We will deliver,” he affirmed.
