The 4th Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Desmond Bockarie with Command vehicle has been attacked in Yanah village while returning from Sanya after the Official Presentation Ceremony of the Newly elected PC of Tambaka Youbangie Chiefdom in Karene District and his visit to troops at the border.

This attack was allegedly led by the Village Chief who mobilised the entire village to firstly put road blocks of huge stones and nails on sticks during the day of travel to Sanya with the Key Stakeholders of North -West Region.

The Entourage surmounted the day’s attack while taking the winning Paramount Chief to his home town Sanya. Key personalities present as entourage includes; the Provincial Secretary(PS), the District Officer (DO) the ONS officer Karene , the LUC Kamakwie, the 4th Battalion Commander and the Paramount Chief PC Kandeh Bamba II with others etc…

The LUC was also allegedly attacked on his return by the same Yannah people.

An alleged gunshot was fired at the police.

The entire vehicle of the 4th Battalion Commander was rendered damaged on the doors and side glasses were smashed.

Moreover, the security forces also sustained some body injuries and pain from the pelted stones to avoid confrontation as trained peacekeepers and professional forces.
