Honorable Abdul Kargbo, the Opposition Leader in Parliament, commended the courage and determination of the 45-year-old woman who faced public humiliation during her attempt to take the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
His heartfelt words of courage came in the wake of the woman’s challenging experience, which has sparked discussions about age and education.
Kargbo expressed admiration for the candidate’s unwavering zeal for education, stating, “I deeply admire her courage, determination, and unwavering zeal for education. Despite the humiliation she has recently faced, I have encouraged her not to let this experience demotivate or define her.”
He emphasized that setbacks often serve as stepping stones to greater achievements, describing her resilience as an inspiring example for others.
In his address, Kargbo reached out to older individuals who may feel hesitant about returning to school or pursuing further education. “Age should never be a barrier to personal growth or the fulfillment of one’s dreams,” he asserted. He underscored the importance of lifelong learning, reminding everyone that it is never too late to gain knowledge and skills that can transform lives.
Kargbo urged those who still carry the fire of ambition within them to “go forward with confidence.” He reinforced that dreams remain valid regardless of age, stating, “Whether you are 40, 50, or even 70, your dreams are still valid.” He called for a shift in societal attitudes, advocating for a culture that uplifts and encourages people of all ages to pursue their aspirations.
“Let us create a society that uplifts and encourages people of all ages to pursue their aspirations, especially in the realm of education,” Kargbo said.
He concluded by championing the idea that self-improvement has no deadline, affirming, “In the end, it’s never too late to live in your dream.”
They are known for cheap things of such nature, not surprising at all.
They cannot support the government to protect the electricity theft and vandalization of the installations, instead bent on hiring thugs to destroy what can benefit every family in Sierra Leone.
Hmmm… hypocrisy to the highest degree
Thank you leader for encouraging that woman.
Those educational officials behave unprofessionally to her, it’s not good at all. Is like they do not even know their duties and responsibilities.
Most of them, during examination period they are busy collecting money from each center they visited.
