Magistrate Adama Kandeh of Pademba Road Magistrate Court No.4 in Freetown has issued a bench warrant against an accused person who failed to appear in court to answer charges brought against him.

Yusif the accused, is facing two count charge of threatening language, contrary to Section 3(ii) of the public order act no. 46 of 1965, and calling a person by a name other than his/her own name contrary to Section 3(i) of the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965.

Prosecuting Police alleged that between 20th March and 25th August 2025 at Main Road, Goderich in Freetown, the accused used threatening Languages against the complaints, Dura Bangura and Victoria f. Bangura, stating: “Ar go kill u n u uman for natin” and “Ar go burn u motor bike,” as it is read in count one.

On count two, the accused is said to have called the complainant, Dura Bangura, a “Tif man” at the same place and date, with intent to aggravate him and crack the peace.

The Prosecuting counsel, M. Bayoh applied for a bench warrant sighting the section 25(1) of the criminal procedure Act No. 6 of 2024 as the accused was absent in court.

Having heard the application, Magistrate Kandeh granted the request and issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the accused.

Magistrate did not waste much of her time she granted the request from the counsel M. Bayoh and issued a bench warrant for the arrest of the Yusif the accused.

The matter was adjourned to 3 October 2025.
