The Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Professor David Francis has confirmed that His Excellency, President Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Julius Maada Bio will attend the ECOWAS Extraordinary Summit of the Authority of Heads of State and Governments on the political situation in the Republic of Burkina Faso, Guinea and Mali in Accra tomorrow.
Meanwhile, as the Coordinator of the African Union Committee (C-10) on the reform of the UN Security Council, the Presidency of the African Union and the African Union Commission have invited His Excellency President Dr. Julius Maada Bio to present the 22nd Report of the C-10 on the Reform of the UN Security Council for the 35th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Governments in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia scheduled for the 5th and 6th February, 2022.
It is anticipated that President Bio’s Report to the 35th Ordinary Session of the AU Assembly of Heads of State and Governments will cover the period from January 2021 to January 2022 and progress made on equitable representation on an increase in the membership of the UN Security Council as well as progress made in advancing the Common African Position by the C-10 on the reform on the UN Security Council.
