The Transitional Interim Independent Electoral Management Committee (TIIEMC) of the All Peoples Congress (APC) will today, 20th December, 2022 start the conduct of all lower-level elections within the entire membership of the party as stated in the latest press release issued by the party’s 21-Man Interim Transitional Governance Committee (ITGC).
According to the press release, which was signed by the ITGC Secretary Hon. Abdul Kargbo the TIIEMC will today conduct the elections to choose the party’s ward executives in all four hundred and thirty-five wards across the coun-. try, followed by the conduct of the constituency elections which are scheduled for Friday 23rd Decem- ber and the district elections which will take place on Wednesday, 28th December, this year.
Up to four thousand five hundred positions are at stake to be grabbed by successful members who will be voted for by the party’s members-
Speaking to this press recently, the APC-ITGC Chairman, Alfred Pe- ter Conteh, said that the elections will be carried out at a venue that will be communicated by the TIIEMC, adding that the onus to have free, fair and transparent elections now lies with the TIIEMC instead of the ITGC.
According to Alfred Peter Conteh, the commencement of the much anticipated lower-level elections is the beginning of Success for the APC, noting that after completing the transformation of the party’s governance and administrative structures; they will start the full cam- paon on June 24, 2023, general elections.
The APC-ITGC chairman also noted that all those who want to take part in the lower-level elections must make their full payments to the bank, adding that those who are contesting must ensure that they register with the party and be law-abiding during this all-important electioneering process.
