The Lumley Police Division in the Westend of Freetown last Saturday 7th November 2015 arrested and detained the APC Member of Parliament for Constitution 28 in the Bombali district, Hon. Mabinty Khadija Sillah but was later released on bail, on the same day.
Police sources attributed her arrest and subsequent detention to an earlier report made against her by an aggrieved citizen.
The report to the Police against the MP was made by a close family member of the late Abdul Ajami Kamara. He alleged that Hon. Mabinty K. Sillah ordered some of her boys to demolish a fence, so that she can gain access to the house of a relative currently under construction.
Sources close to the FSU at the Lumley Police Division intimated the Global Times that no sooner they received the report they went to the construction site at Lakka, where the Police arrested two of the workers including a contractor called Muctarr.
Muctar admitted to the Police that it was Hon. Mabinty Sillah who instructed them to demolish the fence. The Police then arrested the MP.
The unfinished house at Lakka belongs to the late Abdul Ajami Kamara who was a special friend of Hon. Mabinty Sillah.
Hon. M.K. Sillah’s attempt to lay claim to the property is being stiffly resided by the three daughters and relatives of the late Alhaji Ajami Kamara.
When contacted for her reaction to the allegations, Hon. Mabinty Sillah declined to comment insisting that the matter was being investigated by the Police.
Investigations continue.
