The All People Congress (APC) party is set to construct a new southern regional headquarters office in Bo city, marking a significant step for the party in a region traditionally dominated by its rival, the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP).

According to Honorable Legacy Sancoh, the APC’s Regional Secretary General for the South, the initiative originated from regional party executives aiming to establish a permanent presence in the area. To fund this ambitious project, the party hosted a successful fundraising dinner at Dohas Hotel on November 16, 2024, raising over two billion Leones.

“We have secured eight acres of land at the Reservation in Bo, generously donated by a senior party member,” Sancoh stated. The construction is set to begin in December 2024, with expectations that the entire project will be completed by 2025.

The establishment of a dedicated office is crucial for the APC, especially as it faces challenges in securing premises in a region where the SLPP holds significant influence. Sancoh emphasized the importance of this venture, noting that the new office will feature a large conference hall suitable for National Delegates Conference Meetings.

“This is a laudable venture for the party,” he said, expressing confidence that the APC South is now more committed than ever to advancing the party’s goals and aspirations. The fundraising event saw participation from party executives nationwide, along with representatives from the youth league, disabled wings, women’s congress, and other stakeholders.

As the APC embarks on this new chapter, party leaders are optimistic about strengthening their foothold in the southern region and enhancing their organizational capacity.
