The leadership of the All People’s Congress (APC) is set to hold a crucial meeting today with a joint delegation of international guarantors, including representatives from ECOWAS, the African Union, UNOWAS, and the Commonwealth.

The delegation will be led by Her Excellency Fatoumata Jallow Tambajang, former Vice President of The Gambia. The meeting will take place at the APC Party Headquarters in Freetown at 12:50 pm.

In preparation for the high-level gathering, the APC leadership, in a letter dated 14th October 2024, formally requested police presence from the Sierra Leone Police (SLP). The party emphasized the need for security to ensure the safety of the international delegation during their visit.

In response, the Sierra Leone Police granted approval on the same day, with further instructions outlined. In a communication addressed to the APC, the Inspector General of Police confirmed the request had received due attention and assured the party of police presence during the meeting.

The police letter also reminded the APC of the necessity to adhere to the Public Order Act No. 46 of 1965 and the Road Traffic Regulation of 2007, urging compliance with legal protocols during the event.

The meeting between the APC leadership and the international delegation is expected to address ongoing political concerns, with the involvement of key international bodies aimed at fostering dialogue and stability in Sierra Leone.
