The main opposition, the All People’s Congress (APC) party has commenced its meet-the-people tour in the Southern Region of Sierra Leone.
The tour was used to talk about what matters to the public and meet people from senior politicians to members of local communities.
At the Moyamba APC Party Headquarters, 2018 Presidential Candidate, Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara spoke on social and economic issues, whiles also talking of his plans to rekindle what he described as “the good old day” if he is elected President of Sierra Leone in 2023.
Dr. Samura Kamara also talked about the need for safe drinking water and a dependable electricity supply for local communities.
“I heard communities in Moyamba lack safe drinking water supply. I heard you, and I will deliver on community issues”, Dr. Samura Kamara assured.
During the town hall meeting, people were allowed to ask questions unscripted and make up their minds about some of the things that matter to their families and communities.
In another development, a self-help community project to construct a Mosque was commissioned by Dr. Samura Kamara in Mano Yorgbor, Bagbo chiefdom Bo district.
Dr. Samura contributed to the project and was called by the community to officially commission and lay a brick for the construction.
Dr . Kamara said, “building the house of God requires commitment, and every cent spent must be clean in the eyes of God. We must also be clean in spirit as we further this project”.
