The Minister of Health and Sanitation, Austin Demby has launched Sierra Leone’s first Climate health unit in the country. 

This came as part of his health for all project in ensuring that, the health system in the country gets a sustainable development and progress in accelerating a better medical systems across the sector.

It is recorded that, the ministry (MoH) has pledged to go green and to do so deliberately for the better life expectancy of every Sierra Leonean.

They maintained that, The unit is a testament to the health sector’s desire to be resilient in the era of global climate crisis.

It was also reported that, with support from Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny, they have re-commissioned wards 7&8 at Connaught Hospital after renovation and the commissioning represented a commitment to improving healthcare services and ensuring patients-centered approach to service delivery.

The development in the health sector can be related to the proactive reactions of the President Bio in ensuring that, every Sierra Leonean has a better and equiped health status in the country amidst the five big game changers as ascribed by many.

The Ministry has also announced that, the School of Midwifery in Bo has completed the graduation of 56 new midwives which is the 5th time that this institution is producing highly skilled and qualified people, adding that, the Minister is proud to see the Midwifery School improving maternal health in Sierra Leone.

The Minister called on all health workers to keep the pace in making and delivering the best care for their patients and always realize that, they are serving their conscience and the nation.
