President of the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA), Babadi Kamara, has returned to Freetown after a landmark maiden official trip on the continental stage, where he represented the country in high-level football engagements.

During his visit, Kamara participated in the CAF Impact Workshop, focusing on reforms and opportunities to accelerate football development across Africa. His leadership was further recognized through his appointment as a member of the CHAN Organizing Committee, giving Sierra Leone a significant role in preparations for one of CAF’s flagship tournaments.

He also joined the CAF 54 Member Association Presidents’ Strategic Round Table Meeting, attended by CAF President Dr. Patrice Motsepe and FIFA President Gianni Infantino. Discussions centered on football infrastructure, financial sustainability, governance, and strategies to enhance Africa’s global competitiveness.

Kamara, accompanied by SLFA Acting General Secretary Mohamed Benson Bawoh, described the trip as an invaluable platform to elevate Sierra Leone’s voice in African football. He pledged to strengthen grassroots football and ensure Sierra Leone earns both representation and respect in the global game.
