In a recent interview on AYV TV, Information Minister Chernor Bah disclosed a crucial development in the investigation into the November 26th Failed Coup, declaring Former President Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma as a suspect. Minister Bah underscored a significant piece of evidence pointing towards the involvement of both former and current guards of the ex-president in the alleged coup attempt.
He emphasized, “The individuals who planned and executed the attempted coup included both former and current guards of Ex-President Koroma. They were actively involved in the coup attempt, with some traveling from his house in Makeni for the operation and returning after its failure.”
According to the minister, these guards not only participated actively in the failed operation but also traveled from Dr. Koroma’s residence in Makeni to execute the plot, subsequently returning after the operation faced a setback. This revelation implicates a direct link between the ex-president’s security personnel and the coup attempt, raising questions about their motives and the extent of their involvement.
Minister Chernor Bah refrained from divulging additional details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation into Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma. However, he assured the public that the government’s actions are in strict adherence to the law. He emphasized the reliance on a combination of evidence, confessions, and information received during the investigation process.
While the minister acknowledged the existence of other compelling pieces of evidence, he opted to withhold them at this juncture, perhaps to avoid compromising the ongoing inquiry. Despite the gravity of the situation, Minister Bah asserted that the government’s actions are not driven by a witch-hunt but rather a commitment to upholding the rule of law. He reiterated that, the focus of the investigations into the failed coup is not party, ethnicity or region but on the facts.
This revelation adds a layer of complexity to the unfolding situation, leaving citizens eager to learn more about the evidence and the overall progress of the investigation. As the legal proceedings continue, the public remains on edge, awaiting further updates on this high-profile case.
Let the fair investigation be carried out and true justice be implemented accordingly. No man born of a woman is above the law of the land (Salone).
God never fails and u will surely go to jail Ernest, ur plan was to unseat the democratically elected president but God nor dae sleep ya.
I hope c.Bah is not insinuating that EBK hired his security personnels.Childish and deceptive criminal behavior witch hunt, but you will fail.
Good.
Let the Rules of law be implemented because no one is above the law.
May Allah further confuse the perpetrators of November 26 2023 aborted coup plot. May Allah punish the perpetrators who want to bring mayhem into Sierra Leone for the their selfish purpose
Waw
It now I understood when they invented ebk for questioning he asked for security rather than using his own security guards.
in democracy, as it stated that an accused person should be present innocent until he or she is found guilty in a court of Law. But this is different, i demand to know why? you can’t just suspect a person by a mere Allegation and conclude that indeed, he is guilty without taking to court. This is unjust and justice must prevail. i rest my case⚖⚖⚖⚖⚖
Kaizer, indeed no man is above the law but please underline such statement when u mention Sierra Leone. Our current president is above the law hence he is not auditable neither his wife. If my statement is not correct please give reason why former auditor general was removed
EBk is not sincere with himself let alone Sierra Leone. How can his security guard abandoned him from and we’re automatically found in coup plot against president Bio . He hate president Bio with passion. But he has finally reach his Waterloo
I want to respond to someone that says, President Bio and our First Lady is above the law and also why the Former Auditor General was removed. First according to our 1991 Constitution, it gives amnesty to the sitting President which means it cannot be tried by any laws of the land but when you are out you can be tried. That doesn’t apply to our First Lady and furthermore, the Former Auditor General was not removed until the second term our President Bio, she was on suspension because of professional misconduct, which means she did not follow the ethics of her job that why. So I hope I answered your questions
You guys are not serious and ready to govern this country
I want to respond to the individual that said in democracy, one is innocent until it proven guilty, yes you are right but you are automatically refers to as suspect, which means you will behind bars until you are found guilty or you are proven innocent due to the evidence gathered and our Former President case is different because He was once an Head of State, that why he was given the privilege to an house arrest with strict restrictions and moreover the house arrest is taken place in His own house and i hope you doubt is now settled
EBK’s security personnel are not hired by him, but trained and deployed by the state. They are big mature men having their mindsets. Their behaviour and conduct are not controlled by EBK. So their involvement in any state crime is not an issue with EBK. Did he send them to do what they did? Is there any evidence that EBK sent them? Of all of the arrested men and women, only 4 are current and former securities to EBK, 3 of those have long left the security camp of EBK abut four years ago, and the current one is stationed in his Freetown residence not even in Makeni.
I’m yet to be convinced that former President Koroma orchestrated the failed coup. We need clear based evidences beyond all reasonable doubts to prove his involvement. His former security guards actions should not be used to insinuate EBK , they are grown up men and I believe they can take decisions of any magnitude whether good or bad. This case need to be investigated properly without any malice and political witch-hunting, or else a very nasty legacy will be left that will make our former Presidents to be kept in tight places and blown the hell out of them. The public is critically watching, we need a free, fair and credible investigations or else the cane you used to beat others, that same cane will be used to trash you in a more indecent and revengeful manner.
yes former president koroma should have treated him self as state man he should have not put him self into this mess may the lord protect him
The is setup for proof, but my question is this, who assigned security to ex-stste man, let’s be careful of our stat
