The First Lady of Sierra Leone, Fatima Jabbie Bio has been honoured with an Honorary Doctorate Degree by the University of Sierra Leone at Fourah Bay College campus, Mount Aureol.

This is her second Horois Causa doctorate after bagging one last from the American International University in West Africa.

Prior to her Honorary Degrees, Fatima Bio graduated from the Roehampton University in Great Britain with a Bachelor of Arts Honours in Performing Arts. In 2015, she graduated with a second Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the London College of Communication in the United Kingdom.

An Honorary degree or a Honoris Causa (Latin:for the sake of honour) is an academic degree given by a university to a person who particularly deserves such an honour. It may be someone who has had nothing to do with that University. The awardee does not have to take an Examination. It’s purely an honour for whatever good work he or she has already done.
