On the 28th of July 2025, President Maada Bio held a meeting at State House in Freetown with H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki, the Secretary-General of the Organization of African, Caribbean, and Pacific States (OACPS).

During the productive discussions, President Bio reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing cooperation as Sierra Leone works towards meaningful integration into the global economy.

President Bio and H.E. Moussa Saleh Batraki discussed ways to explore opportunities for OACPS to support economic development initiatives in Sierra Leone, addressing pressing challenges such as poverty and unemployment. Enhancing trade relations was a priority, with President Bio seeking assistance from OACPS to facilitate access to broader markets for Sierra Leonean products.

Capacity building efforts were also discussed, emphasizing the importance of improving governance and institutional capacity, which are vital for the country’s development.
