President Julius Maada Bio has donated 20 motor bikes and cash to the SLPP Chairman in Kono District, Mr. Safea Moriwa and his executive to facilitate their movement within the district in the interest of the party.
Speaking to Global Times yesterday, Chairman Moriwa said that, he was grateful to the President for responding to his proposal he made earlier for him to boost the activities of the party in the district. “We are grateful for such a great and timely gesture as we were in dire need of transportation to facilitate our movement to hard-to-reach areas in the district”, he said adding that “The motor bikes and cash will help us greatly to visit over one hundred towns and villages in the district”.
It would be recalled that the chairman and his executive have been visiting and monitoring government projects within the district
Last week, the Chairman led a high-powered delegation from NMA, Local Content Agency and other stakeholders in the mining sector to the major mining companies in the district to continue with the advocacy for the full implementation of the local content policy thereby helping people to have business and employment opportunities in the district.
The Chairman, together with the key representatives from the various agencies and departments emphasized that the essence of the local content policy was to create the enabling working environment that would give access to Sierra Leoneans for business and employment opportunities.
