President Julius Maada Bio and First Lady Fatima Bio on Thursday joined members of the Muslim community for Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the Presidential Lodge in Hill Station, marking the end of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
The prayers brought together family members, senior government officials, and worshippers in an atmosphere described as solemn and spiritually uplifting, as participants offered gratitude to Allah for His blessings over Sierra Leone.

In a goodwill message shared after the event, the First Lady expressed deep appreciation for the opportunity to host the gathering, noting that the conclusion of Ramadan represents a time of reflection, sacrifice, and renewed faith among Muslims.

According to her, the spirit of “Ramadan Kareem” underscores the importance of togetherness and collective responsibility in building a peaceful and progressive nation.

The First Lady further highlighted the significance of the prayers in strengthening bonds across communities, adding that such moments inspire hope for a future grounded in shared prosperity and mutual respect.
Eid-ul-Fitr is one of the most important celebrations in Islam, observed worldwide with prayers, charity, and communal gatherings following a month of fasting.
