President Julius Maada Bio on Tuesday, 5 May 2026, held discussions at State House with the Acting National Chairman of the All People’s Congress, Amb. Alhaji Osman Foday Yansaneh, and other representatives of the party.

According to President Bio, the meeting focused on strengthening continued engagement between the government and opposition stakeholders, with emphasis on national unity and cooperation.

In a statement following the meeting, the President described the discussions as productive and reiterated his administration’s commitment to dialogue.

“I reaffirmed my strong commitment to fostering continued dialogue and emphasized the importance of working together in service to our people and our nation,” President Bio stated.

The engagement is seen as part of ongoing efforts to maintain communication between the government and opposition parties on issues of national importance.

The meeting also highlighted the significance of collaboration among political actors in promoting peace, stability, and democratic governance in Sierra Leone.
