President Julius Maada Bio has appointed Mohamed Rahman Swaray, the current Minister of Employment, Labour, and Social Security, to assume the role of Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

This strategic appointment comes in response to the absence of the substantive Minister and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from Sierra Leone.

The official appointment letter issued by the President reads as follows:

“I write to inform you that it has pleased His Excellency the President to appoint you to act as Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation in the absence of the substantive Minister and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation from the jurisdiction of Sierra Leone.

This appointment will terminate on the return to Sierra Leone of the substantive Minister or Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.”
