Sierra Leone’s president, Julius Maada Bio will on Thursday 5th January 2023, officially open the Sierra Leone Foreign Service Academy at the OAU Drive, Tower Hill.
This is revelation is made in a press statement issued today by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.
The statement reads as follow:
“In fulfilment of the Government of Sierra Leone’s strategic policy actions to support the training of career diplomats, His Excellency the President, Rtd. Brig. Dr. Julius Maada Bio will on Thursday 5th January, 2023, officially open the Sierra Leone Foreign Service Academy at the OAU Drive, Tower Hill, by 10:00 am.
The Foreign Service Academy has been established to serve as the professional training and educational institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and to address the capacity gap in the Foreign Service and promote research, educational excellence, career development and service to the Nation.
“This is the right time to significantly increase our Country’s investment in Diplomacy” says Foreign Minister, Professor David Francis.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation wishes to thank the Government of the People’s Republic of China for providing funding support for the construction of the first Foreign Service Academy in the Mano River Sub-Region.”
