The Regional Police Commander South, Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) Mr. Brima Kanneh leads a road safety initiative to get rid of traffic congestion in Bo City.
This significant and ongoing initiative aimed at transforming road safety and reducing congestion in Bo City.
AIG Mr. Brima Kanneh has taken the lead in a collaboration with Bo City Mayor Kobba Musa and the Bo West Division. Together, they are addressing community concerns regarding traffic congestion, illegal parking, and pedestrian safety. This coordinated effort signifies a strong commitment to creating a safer and more orderly urban environment in Bo.
The project, managed on the ground by the Bo West Division Operations Team under the guidance of Support Officer Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Mr. Almamy Libo Bangura, has mobilized officers to clear main streets of vehicles and motorbikes parked in illegal zones. Central to the effort is a newly implemented static traffic deployment plan led by Chief Inspector Allen P. Cooper, the Bo West Divisional Traffic Officer (DTO).
Under Chief Inspector Cooper’s leadership, officers have been strategically stationed at key locations, transforming areas previously crowded with illegally parked vehicles into safer and more accessible pathways for both drivers and pedestrians.
AIG Kanneh emphasized the importance of responding directly to the needs of Bo’s residents, stating, “I will not sit in my office and fail to answer the call of the people I am serving.” His commitment aligns seamlessly with Mayor Musa’s vision of a safer, pedestrian-friendly Bo City, showcasing how the police as a law enforcement body and local government can unite to address community issues effectively. This initiative not only fosters public trust but also demonstrates the police dedication to prioritizing the well-being of Bo’s citizens.
The proactive measures taken to alleviate traffic congestion and improve road safety in Bo have been met with positive feedback from residents. The city’s thoroughfares are now experiencing a smoother flow of traffic, with accessible footpaths allowing pedestrians to navigate safely and comfortably. Community members, local leaders, and stakeholders are optimistic about the continued growth and lasting impact of this initiative.
As the initiative progresses, the Regional Commander and Bo West Division team are dedicated to building on this momentum. They are committed to gathering feedback from the community and adapting strategies to ensure maximum impact. This forward-thinking approach prioritizes safety and accessibility, promising a more organized and peaceful future for Bo City.
