The Cyber Crime Unit of Sierra Leone’s Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has officially invited Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, former flag bearer of the All Peoples Congress (APC), for questioning over a series of circulating videos and audios linked to the country’s post-election narrative.

According to a letter dated April 30, 2025, issued from CID Headquarters on Pademba Road, Dr. Kamara is alleged to have referred to himself as the “President-elect of Sierra Leone” in several of the media clips. The materials, reportedly compiled from various locations and now in the possession of the Cyber Investigations Unit, are said to concern matters related to electoral justice.

The CID noted that Dr. Kamara was not only referred to as the President-elect by others in the footage but also appeared to endorse the title himself, raising concerns amid ongoing political sensitivity.

As part of the investigation, Dr. Kamara has been summoned to appear at the CID Cyber Investigations Unit on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. to clarify the statements made in the recordings.
