One of Port Loko’s strong association named Port Loko Descendants Association has today brought this to our table that, they will be having a peaceful protest in few days over what they referred to as illegal arrest of one of the sons of the soil Honorable Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay.
This was followed by an arrest made on the former Ministry of Transportation and Aviation, Honorable Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay over alleged cyber crime.
The former minister was brought before the Court to answer to one count of Cyber stalking and Bullying contrary to Section 44 (2) of the Cyber Security Crime Act of 2021.
According to the particulars of offence, Alhaji Kemoh Sesay between March, and April 2022, through social media, via WhatsApp, in Port Loko, Bakeloko was alleged to have done cyber-crime willfully and repeatedly, by communicating directly to the President, Julius Maada Bio, in a style that he knew to be false, and insulting, for the purpose of causing danger, to the President.
On Friday yesterday, Principal Magistrate, His Worship Magistrate Sahr E. Kekura remanded in custody the former Minster of Transport and Aviation in the erstwhile government, Honorable Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay.
It is as a result of this alleged cyber crime and the court taken actions of reminding Kemoh Sesay that has sparked descendants of Port Loko district with many questions to ask and eager to know which actions the court is to take next.
The Association of Port Loko Descendants has called the attention of all secret societies, Development Unions across Port Loko District to summon their membership to meetings within their various localities. The agenda for such meetings must be centered on the illegal detention of a Senior citizen of the Republic of Sierra Leone and also a son of the soil. According to our sources received, the deliberations of these meetings must include an immediate action on or before Monday 9th May 9th, 2022.
According to Alie Jusu Sawaneh, who is the secretary-General of the Port Loko Descendant Association, the upcoming peaceful protest is directed to response to what he considers injustice meted out to a distinguished descendant of Port Loko, in the person of Honorable Alhaji Ibrahim Kemoh Sesay.
