The Chairman of the Electoral Commission for Sierra Leone (ECSL), Mohamed Konneh has today announced partial results for the 2023 presidential election result in Sierra Leone.

In accordance with the Constitution of Sierra Leone (Section 33 and 38A) and the Public Elections Act, 2022 (Sections 7 and 68(1)), the ECSL conducted the elections simultaneously. The commission adhered to these legal provisions to ensure the proper administration of the electoral process.

As the National Returning Officer, the ECSL has made public the partial results for the Presidential election. These results represent 60 percent of the total polling stations’ outcomes from each district. The ECSL Result Management systems at Regional Tally Centres in Freetown, Bo, Kenema, Makeni, and Port Loko have reviewed and cleared these results.

The ECSL wants to assure the public that it is diligently working to process and release the remaining results in a timely manner. The commission remains committed to upholding the principles of a free, fair, and transparent election process.
