The Electoral Commission For Sierra Leone (ECSL) has released a preliminary press statement on the 2023 presidential, parliamentary, mayor/chairperson, and councilor elections in Sierra Leone.
In the statement, the ECSL said polling commenced peacefully by 7 am at most polling stations across the country.
“There were logistical challenges in some of the polling centres relating to the late arrival of materials especially to some parts of Western Area Rural and Urban districts which resulted in late opening of polls at these polling stations.”, it added.
The commission further informed the public that even though voting will close at polls by 5 pm, every voter on the queue will be allowed to vote.
