The Electricity Distribution and Supply Agency (EDSA) has apologised to the First Lady, Fatima Bio after his radio discussion programme went off air due to a power outage in Kenema, Eastern Sierra Leone.
“The Management of EDSA extends its sincere apologies to Her Excellency, the First Lady, Dr. Fatima Bio for the inconvenience this situation may have caused,” EDSA noted in a Press Release.
The First Lady, on Friday, November 22 was on-air on Top Radio interview at around 7:30 when the power forced her to go off-air. EDSA said the outage was caused after the transformer feeding the radio station experienced a low-voltage resulting in a blow-off of the fuse. The electricity company, in their apology, pointed out that their technician was able to resolve the issue within 10 minutes of its occurrence.
They promised that such would not occur again once works are completed on the Bo/Kenema Rehabilitation and Expansion Project.
“Once the Bo/Kenema Rehabilitation and Expansion Project is completed, the network will be safe and reliable with less interruptions and limitations,” they said.
Power outage in Kenema, recently, is scarce but residents in the capital Freetown have been complaining of persistent power outage. A Lumley resident recently informed Sierraloaded that their community take a day or two without electricity.
Such Programs should not rely on EDSA, there should be a backup generator. Even if you rely on EDSA, the backup generator will aid the restoration of electricity within seconds. That would’ve solved the issue of FL not to leave the Radio Station.
But maybe she was sending a message to EDSA though
Oooo ya salone 😞 EDSA apologize

Oh Sierra Leone West Africa 🇸🇱 when are we going off this promble light and food it our great promble in Sierra Leone, let God help us.
Like seriously 🙄,
Why EDSA apologies to the first lady for power outage who is not the boss of the country but rather an employee of the people (Sierra Leoneans) but EDSA has never apologise to us (Sierra Leoneans) the employers for power outage that will be fixed after one or two weeks? I pray that God will fight and eliminate you guys for not being fair with us the poor people who’s money is being used to pay all of you for such treatment you’re giving us in that country in Jesus mighty name, Amen.
EDSA needs to extend the same consideration to all citizens. Are they aware of the impact their actions have on us, particularly as businesspeople, who lose millions of Leones daily due to power outages? If they choose to apologize to the First Lady, the mother of the nation, then she should advocate for EDSA to apologize to us, the citizens who are the backbone of the land. Without our hard work and sacrifices, the Office of the First Lady would not hold the recognition it does. EDSA, we await your apology.
They should have use generator instead,EDSA need Total reform and proper Machines
