The Electricity Distribution and Supply Agency (EDSA) has apologised to the First Lady, Fatima Bio after his radio discussion programme went off air due to a power outage in Kenema, Eastern Sierra Leone.
“The Management of EDSA extends its sincere apologies to Her Excellency, the First Lady, Dr. Fatima Bio for the inconvenience this situation may have caused,” EDSA noted in a Press Release.
The First Lady, on Friday, November 22 was on-air on Top Radio interview at around 7:30 when the power forced her to go off-air. EDSA said the outage was caused after the transformer feeding the radio station experienced a low-voltage resulting in a blow-off of the fuse. The electricity company, in their apology, pointed out that their technician was able to resolve the issue within 10 minutes of its occurrence.
They promised that such would not occur again once works are completed on the Bo/Kenema Rehabilitation and Expansion Project.
“Once the Bo/Kenema Rehabilitation and Expansion Project is completed, the network will be safe and reliable with less interruptions and limitations,” they said.
Power outage in Kenema, recently, is scarce but residents in the capital Freetown have been complaining of persistent power outage. A Lumley resident recently informed Sierraloaded that their community take a day or two without electricity.
