The Management of Electricity Distribution and Supply Authority (EDSA) has officially announced temporal power outage in 17 areas within Freetown due to a broken medium voltage pole at Macauley Street, Circular Road.

According to the EDSA, the affected areas include Leicester Road, Macauley Street, FBC Kortright, Tree Planting, Kondy Farm, Gloucester, Sky Junction, Blue House, Aayumie Drive, Kalokoh Fawaz, EU, Basma, Leicester Peak Junction, American Embassy, Econ, Mackie and Samsumana Drives.

The Management assured that they have already inspected the damaged pole and have commenced preparations for its replacement and installation, affirming that the work is scheduled to begin tomorrow, Friday, May 9th, 2025.

The EDSA acknowledged the inconvenience caused by the power outage and offered assurances to affected customers. “The Authority further apologizes for the inconvenience this situation has caused and assures the affected customers of a speedy completion of work as indicated,” the public notice read.

The EDSA also expressed gratitude to its customers for their “patience and understanding while we work tirelessly to better our services.”
