Edwina Jamiru Calls for the Removal of Momoh Jah Stevens as FBC Lecturer

Fourah Bay College (FBC) student, Edwina Jamiru, has made a public appeal to the University of Sierra Leone and the Faculty of Law to remove suspended Judge Momoh Jah-Stevens from his position as a lecturer.

Jamiru, who is the mother of Stevens’ daughter, a claim he initially denied until a court-ordered DNA test confirmed Stevens as the child’s father. The revelation has intensified public scrutiny surrounding the case.

Barely days after the DNA results were made public, Jamiru, a law student at FBC, took to TikTok urging the university to sever ties with Stevens, who had already been suspended by the Sierra Leone Judiciary when the matter first came to light.

“Fourah Bay College should not be an institution where Momoh Jah Stevens is allowed to freely engage in sexual relations with students,” Jamiru said in her video. She alleged that Stevens took advantage of her position as his student and engaged in a sexual relationship with her, an act she described as an “abuse of office.”

Jamiru accused Stevens of being “deceptive” and claimed that despite his suspension, he continues to lecture at FBC. “Momoh Jah-Stevens must be permanently removed as a lecturer at the Faculty of Law because he had an affair with me,” she declared.

She further alleged that some affected students are afraid to speak out for fear of retaliation from certain lecturers. Jamiru also criticised another lecturer, Lawyer Rashid Dumbuya, claiming he told her to repent for committing fornication with the suspended judge. “But it is also a sin to protect a lecturer who commits adultery,” she responded.

Jamiru concluded by warning that Stevens’ continued presence at FBC and within the Judiciary “contaminates” both institutions, calling it “an abomination.”

Meanwhile some netizens have supported her with one particular about a reprisal from the Stevens since Jamiru is a student at the department he lectures.
