It has been reported that the erstwhile President Ernest Bai Koroma has landed the shores of Sierra Leone after he departed Sierra Leone on the 21st October 2022 to Banjul, The Gambia.
On a press statement from the office of the former President Koroma disclosed that, Ernest Bai Koroma and ECOWAS officials met at the First Annual Retreat for Special Envoys and High Officials of ECOWAS and IGAD on Unconstitutional Changes of Government and Constitutional Transitions.
Among other guests of honours that graced the occasion were Africa and West Asia (AWA) Programme of International IDEA (AWA IDEA) is working to revitalize its partnership with African Regional Economic Communities (RECs) and other regional mechanisms.
This was particularly important in the context of the shared objective of preventing and addressing challenges of constitutional transitions and unconstitutional changes of government (UCG) all across the continent.
Knowing his critical role in the ECOWAS and African Union (AU) commission, Ernest Bai Koroma joined his peers, policy makers and good governance experts in the efforts to address the disturbing
Given his critical role in supporting ECOWAS and African Union Commission efforts on mediation in constitutional transitions and preventing UCGs,’ former President Koroma will join his peers, policy and good governance experts in the continuous efforts to address the worrying setback in democratic transitions on the continent.
After several deliberations and discussions, erstwhile President Koroma has returned reportedly returned home from Banjul after a successful International trip which geared towards to development of the entire continent.
