The Minister of Information and Civic Education, Chernor Bah has assured Sierra Leoneans of their safety and security amidst the current situation in the country.

He said Sierra Leoneans have been very proactive and supportive to the current search trend in the country to have those disturbing the peace of the country, adding that the fact that the country had a failed attempted coup and the curfew does not mean that the people should be panicked.

I want to assure the people of this country that the country is safe and everybody should go on their normal business and work within the confines of the slated directive, during the day go on your normal business and even if you hear gunshot stay safe, stay covered and listen to the Ministry of Information and Civic Education, we would quickly tell you the correct information” he stated.

Speaking about the curfew, he said the intent of it was a very deliberate one meant to isolate, identify, apprehend and bring to justice those that are fugitives now.

“ that is why when we started it was an indefinite curfew and after a day we realised that, we cannot do that as people have to go on their normal business so, we moved it to a reasonable time” he maintained adding that president bio is more concerned about the security and safety of every sierra Leonean.
