The Paramount Chief at Neya Chiefdom in Falaba District has made threatening remarks against proposed main opposition All People’s Congress (APC) voters in the 24 June elections.

“We are going to launch a campaign to study any station we hear the mentioning of A.P.C; after the election I will deal with the person,” the Chief was caught saying in a video.

The Paramount Chief, who also doubles a Member of Parliament for the district, explained how he has benefitted from the Sierra Leone People’s Party (SLPP). He went further to state that he has mobilised his subordinates and youth leader to launch the campaign.

Earlier in the week, Women for Democracy SL reported that there was unrest in parts of the district.

Sierra Leoneans will vote in a multitier election later in June. There have already been reports of violence in some parts of the country.

Leaders of political parties last week signed a peace agreement at the Bintumani Conference Centre. President Bio and his main contender, Samura Kamara were seen together in a near-frolic mood.

Bio defeated Kamara twice in 2018 by narrow margins but experts have said that the opposition would be capitalising on the state of the country’s economy.
