Sierra Leone’s first lady, Fatima bio and counterpart have on the 3rd July 2024 paid an inspection visit at the ultramodern 600-bed hospital in Freetown.

Their visit came after a successful launch of the #WeAreEqual campaign as she was accompanied  by the invited First Ladies on a tour of the ultra-modern 600-bed hospital she is constructing at the 34 Military Barracks in Freetown.

The tour showcased the nearly completed facility, which stands at 90% completion and promises to be a significant addition to the country’s healthcare infrastructure and she guided the First Ladies through various sections of the hospital, including the Children’s Ward, the Center of Excellence, the “Hands Off Our Girls” ward, and both male and female wards.

It was revealed that, she also highlighted the accompanying nursing school, which will provide essential training for future healthcare professionals and each area underscored the hospital’s commitment to delivering specialised care and services to meet the diverse needs of the community.

The tour not only displayed the progress of the construction but also emphasised the First Lady’s dedication to improving healthcare for all Sierra Leoneans.

The first lady has committed to helping the girls, women and the general populace in the country with special focus to the health sector.
