The first batch of Sierra Leonean pilgrims has arrived safely at Freetown International Airport after completing the Hajj.

Meanwhile, the second and final group of 283 home-based pilgrims departed from King Abdulaziz International Airport’s Hajj and Umrah Terminal for Freetown today, June 25, 2025, at 11:45 KSA Time.

Alhaji Abubakarr Bah, Information Attaché in Saudi Arabia, stated that the final group is expected to land at Freetown International Airport in Lungi at 4:00 p.m. local time. Many pilgrims expressed their joy at returning home to reunite with their families after a successful pilgrimage.

This year, a total of 2,100 Sierra Leonean pilgrims performed the Hajj, including 600 home-based pilgrims, 1,400 from the diaspora, and 100 guests of the Saudi Government.

The Embassy of Sierra Leone and representatives of the Sierra Leone National Union collaborated closely with the Presidential Hajj Taskforce to ensure a smooth and successful Hajj experience for all participants.
