FirstBank Sierra Leone and global appliance brand Icona London have officially launched an “Asset Financing Against Personal Salary” partnership at the bank’s headquarters on Charlotte Street in Freetown.

The initiative, unveiled during a ceremony on Friday, 22nd May 2026, introduces a “Shop Pay Small-Small” financing model designed to enable salaried account holders to acquire home appliances and electronics through flexible repayment arrangements.

Speaking at the launch, Madam Boblinda Bami-Caulker highlighted the significance of the partnership, noting that FirstBank customers will have access to Icona products through the new financing scheme.

She further stated that the initiative is not limited to external customers but also extends to staff of the bank.

The scheme is intended to address the high upfront cost of essential household goods, allowing customers to access consumer credit to purchase a range of items from Icona.

The partnership also marks a key milestone for FirstBank Sierra Leone as it continues to expand its retail banking services. By collaborating with Icona London, a brand known for its product range and international presence, the bank aims to provide more accessible consumer financing solutions to improve customer living standards.

Representatives from both institutions expressed optimism that the model will stimulate retail activity while offering a structured and affordable means for customers to acquire household goods.

The ceremony concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a brief question-and-answer session between stakeholders.
