The former Attorney General and Minister of Justice Joseph Fitzgerald Kamara has reacted to the invitation of Freetown’s Mayor Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr by the Special Investigation Committee (SIC) for the August 10 bloody violence.
It could be recalled that on August 10, 2022, youths took to some streets in the East end of Freetown and other parts of the provinces to protest against the country’s living conditions.
After this violent protest which led to the loss of lives and properties including office, the government decided to set up a Special Investigation Committee to bring all those responsible to book.
After several months of findings, the SIC decides to invite the Mayor of Freetown to provide insights that will assist the work of the committee.
For Attorney General and Minister of Justice took to his tweeter account and react to the Mayor’s invitation by the SIC making instances of different invitations for the Mayor by different institutions.
He tweets “Perils of a Mayor: summoned to Parliament; quizzed by ACC; Ministerial Investigation; charged for expressing her mind; now summoned to attend “Insurrection” Inquiry! What’s next in the closet before Elections? @Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr has 9 lives. You can’t keep a good woman down”.
