Francis Ben Kaifala, Sierra Leone’s Anti-Corruption Commissioner, posted a message acknowledging the country’s strong performance in the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Control of Corruption Indicator over the past seven years.

Kaifala noted that under the leadership of President Brig. (Rtd) Dr. Julius Maada Bio, Sierra Leone consistently achieved scores of over 70%, with some years surpassing 80%. This marks a clear improvement from 2017, when the country scored just 49%.

In his post, Kaifala made it clear that these results were driven by local leadership, not external forces. He credited President Bio for his role in shaping the country’s achievements and said that Sierra Leone’s progress shows the impact of leadership in the fight against corruption.

Kaifala also pointed out that Sierra Leone now ranks among the top ten performers in the lower-income countries category, a reflection of the country’s ongoing commitment to good governance and anti-corruption efforts.

Kaifala expressed pride in these results, affirming that Sierra Leone’s success would not be forgotten. He stated that this achievement was the result of years of hard work and leadership from within the country.
