The Minister of Gender and Children Affairs, Isata Mahoi has emphasized that, her ministry is set to lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the policy and legal framework for issues related to women and children in the country.

This came about during a meeting between the ministry and the Chinese Ambassador to Sierra Leone, Wang Qing.

The Ambassador expressed strong commitment to render assistance and support to the ministry to see that their projected initiative is being achieved.

The meeting was based on the idea to explore potential areas of collaboration as well as gathering innovative ideas that would seek to strongly empower women and children in the country respectively
