Pastor Mohamed Sesay is calling on the German Embassy to end the requirement for sierraleoneans and liberians to travel to Accra, Ghana for visa application describing it as unnecessary, costly and stressfull.

According to him, many applicants spend over US$1,400 on travel, hotel, and logistics just to attend short interviews funds that are out of reach for most people in the region. He noted that Germany, being a highly advanced country, has the capacity to set up a visa system in Sierra Leone if it chooses to.

In one case, a group of Sierra Leoneans nearly missed their interview after realizing they had left key documents behind. Only last-minute electronic transfers saved them from losing everything.
The plea is simple: spare Sierra Leoneans and Liberians the burden. Bring visa services closer to the people.
