The Parliament of the Republic of Sierra Leone has unanimously approved the Sierra Leone Students Loan Scheme.

The approval came in the form of passing into law the Sierra Leone Students Loan Scheme Act.

The Scheme is to facilitate and enhance access to and provide funds to support tertiary education in Sierra Leone.

The approval of the Scheme is a fulfillment of the President Bio’s manifesto promise to introduce a student loan scheme to promote education in the country.
